As of the Academic Year 2006-2007, the Institute was introduced into the European Credit Transfer System. For each course there is a corresponding number of credits, amounting to a total of 60 ECTS per academic year.
As in other pontifical universities, 1 ECTS equals 25 hours of study.
Normally, it is estimated that 25 hours break down as follows:
7h lecture
16h study
2h exam
For all other activities, including archaeological digs, the formula holds 25h Activity = 1 ECTS. For example: 1 week of 40h = 1.6 ECTS.
