APPLICATION INFORMATION


 For the laity: For countries participating in the Bologna Process, this Institute requires a second level academic degree for Italy, the degree letters "old order" or the degree or master in archaeology, art history, or equivalent disciplines.

For clergy: The license in theology is required.

 

1 – Students who wish to attend the Course of Specialization in Christian Archaeology are required to submit an application and attend a subsequent admission interview.

Applications are accepted at the Secretary’s Office beginning October 1 – 17, from 9.00am to 12:00pm (except Saturday). For the application, you need only submit the degree certificate with exams. Moreover, the clerics have to provide a presentation of the Ordinary and a letter from the superior of his/her respective institute in Rome attesting to his residence at that institution.

The admission interview will take place on October 18, 2010.

After passing the admission interview (the number of new students admitted is limited to 15), registration for the first year begins the day of the interview until November 5, which is the opening day of the academic year. The new members must pay the registration fee and deliver six (6) passport photos. The registration fee includes the cost of the Institute’s annual study tour.

2 – Enrolment fees for students in the second and third years are made at the Secretary’s Office from October 1 to November 5, from 9.00am to 12:00pm (except Saturday).

3 – New students receive a Course Confirmation booklet at the time of registration. They, in addition to the Second and Third year students, are required to turn in the booklet to their professors for signatures at both the beginning and end of term. At the conclusion of examinations for the Baccalaureate, License, and Third year, students present the booklet to the Secretary Office for a signature confirming the completion of examinations. 

4 – Auditors will present their preferred classes to the Secretary office in order to receive a card, which indicates the courses they want to attend and the subject of the professors. They are required to submit four (4) passport photos and pay a registration fee of €150.00 for each course. These students are also required, at the beginning and end of term, to attain the professors’ signatures.

5 – The next Academic Year will begin on  November 5, 2010 with the mass of the Holy Spirit, celebrated at the basilica of Santa Prassede at 9:00, and will conclude with the final examinations in June 2011.

6 – Examinations: Examinations for the Baccalaureate, License, and Third Year  will be carried out in the month of June, according to the dates indicated in the Institute’s Calendar.

7 – Written work for a License: The subject and the title, approved by competent professors, must be delivered to the Secretary Office by November 30, 2010; the completed work (from 50 to 100 pages) by May 2010.

8 – Delivering the title of the Doctorate Thesis: No later than  December 15 of the academic year following the conclusion of the Third Year examinations.
